Easy Blueberry Mojitos

How to make fresh and simple blueberry mojitos with fresh (or frozen) blueberries, white rum, mint, and lime.

Easy Blueberry Mojitos

How to Make Blueberry Mojitos

These mojitos are simple to make and are adapted from our classic mojito recipe. You can use fresh or thawed frozen blueberries for this, so while it may look like a summer drink, this is totally doable all year round. (As long as you can find mint, that is).

To make a blueberry mojito, bash blueberries, mint, and some sugar together then add white rum and a little club soda.

Blueberries are wonderful in this, but if you have other berries on hand, use them. Raspberries, strawberries, or even blackberries are all amazing. In fact, you could even play around with adding another herb like fresh basil.

Fresh Blueberry Mojitos

How to make mojitos for a crowd

To make mojitos in a pitcher, muddle the blueberries and mint into lime juice and sugar then stir in rum. If you plan on serving right away, add ice and top with club soda. If you are making the pitcher of mojitos in advance, wait to add the ice and club soda until you are ready to serve so it stays carbonated.

Which rum is best for Mojitos?

Traditionally, white rum is used to make mojitos. The rum you use doesn’t need to break the bank. A good quality, reasonably priced white rum will do the trick.

  • TOTAL

Blueberry mojitos are simple to make and only require a few simple, fresh ingredients. If you cannot find fresh, sweet blueberries, thawed frozen berries work as a substitute.

Makes 1 drink

You Will Need

8 blueberries (fresh or frozen and thawed), plus more for serving

2 tablespoons (1 ounce) fresh squeezed lime juice

2 teaspoons sugar 8 fresh mint leaves, plus more for serving

1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum

Ice

2 tablespoons (1 ounce) club soda

Lime slice for serving

Directions

1Add blueberries, lime juice, sugar and eight mint leaves to a cocktail shaker. Use the end of a wooden spoon or cocktail muddler to bash (or muddle) the mint into the lime juice and sugar. This releases oils from the mint, breaks up the blueberries and helps the sugar dissolve into the lime juice.

2Add rum, stir well, and then pour into a glass filled with ice, leaving about an inch of room then top with club soda. Serve with extra blueberries, mint leaves, and a lime slice.

This is a fabulous recipe. I doubled the 4 serving recipe and made a pitcher. Altered the recipe only using two less spoonfuls of sugar. So for 8 glasses I used 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup fresh lime juice, 32 mint leaves, 4 spoons of sugar and 2 1/2 cups white rum. I quickly pulsed all ingredients minus the rum in the blender. Added rum, ice and soda water at the end. It was a party pleaser. Thank you!! Will make again.

I am a Mojito fanatic and this recipe is spot-on! Perfect amount of ingredients and is as good (if not better) like the bars/restaurants! I did sub the sugar out with two packs of Splenda which worked out perfectly for me!

Just gave these a try without the rum (preggo here) and extra club soda… very refreshing drink for the summer. Can’t wait to try it with the rum in a few months! Thanks for the recipe.
