How to Make Crazy Good Buffalo Chicken Pizza Sticks
This buffalo chicken pizza is so incredibly easy. You can use homemade pizza dough or buy pre-made dough from the store.
For the buffalo chicken, we toss shredded cooked chicken with a whole cup of buffalo wing sauce. You can make our tender and flavorful shredded chicken recipe or buy a store-bought rotisserie chicken and shred that.
Buffalo wing sauce is sold next to the hot sauces and are a little creamier than regular hot sauce. You can make your own, too. Here’s our easy Three Ingredient Buffalo Wing Sauce Recipe
We spread the chicken on top of partially cooked pizza dough and finish with lots of cheese. Then we slide the buffalo chicken pizza into a hot oven and bake until the crust is crisp and the cheese is melted.
This pizza is a crowd pleaser. If you are serving a crowd, try cutting the pizza into pizza sticks.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Sticks Recipe
These pizza sticks are absolutely perfect for parties or a fun dinner. It’s fast, too. Plus, store-bought buffalo wing sauce makes things extra easy. You can find buffalo wing sauce sold next to hot sauces – it looks a little creamier than regular hot sauce. You can also make your own. If you are not a fan, substitute your favorite barbecue sauce.
You Will Need
1 (13.8 ounce) roll Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust or 12 ounces refrigerated pizza dough
3/4 cup buffalo wing sauce, see our homemade buffalo sauce recipe
2 cups shredded cooked chicken, see our tender shredded chicken recipe
4 ounces cheddar cheese, coarsely grated (about 1 cup)
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, coarsely grated (about 1 cup)
2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Prepare Crust
- Make Buffalo Chicken
- To Finish
Heat oven to 400 degrees F . Spray a baking sheet (with sides) with nonstick cooking spray.
Form pizza dough into a 15-inch by 10-inch rectangle (this doesn’t have to be exact, just close). Place dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes.
While the pizza crust bakes, add buffalo wing sauce and shredded chicken to a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, 3 to 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Spread the buffalo chicken over the pre-baked pizza crust then scatter the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese and half of the sliced green onions on top.
Bake the pizza 6 to 10 minutes until cheese has melted and starts to bubble. Scatter remaining sliced green onions on top. Then serve cut into 16 pizza sticks.

Here’s a Tip…IF you use Franks Hot sauce…Or any other hot sauce…It helps ALOT If you put a stick of butter while heating up hit sauce in a pan…the butter calms down the acidic taste and spreads the hot sauce better ..hope this helps..it works for me and that’s how I get my kids to eat buffalo wings…works for ALL of the hot sauces for buffalo wings ..

I made this and mine turned out fabulous! I did alter the recipe by using 1/2 amount of buffalo wing sauce and 1/2 regular BBQ sauce. It was still very spicy but manageable. I will definitely make this again!
Great recipe! I had to use BBQ Rib Sauce instead though because in Australia, it’s hard to find Buffalo Sauce. Is there a better alternative that is available?

Great tip for shredding chicken/cooked meat. Put in your stand mixer with the regular “paddle” attachment and turn up the power slowly until it’s strong enough to shred the chicken, without redecorating the ceiling with meat!
I definitely will try this recipe. I wanted to share something yummy with you. I like to mix shredded chicken with buffalo sauce and some shredded Parmesan. Then roll it up egg roll style in egg roll wrappers and deep fry. My husband likes to dip them in ranch dressing.
If you REALLY wanna turn it into a “passion killer” along with all the green onions, add crumbled blue cheese! There’s lots of room to experiment, so add what you want. I also mix the sauce (all of it) with a shredded rotisserie chicken I buy in the deli of the grocery store, wrap it up, and let it sit overnight in the fridge so the chicken has time to soak up all the flavor of the sauce. Love this pizza! Every time I take it to a party it’s gone in 30 seconds haha 🙂
Wasn’t a big fan, we thought it tasted more like a “buffalo cheese” pizza, it lacked any chicken flavor. When we try it again I will:
1. Add a thin layer of ranch dressing to crust before adding toppings. Maybe some dry ranch seasoning on the crust.
2. Use chunks of chicken instead of shredded chicken. I think shredding the chicken took away from the chicken flavor.
3. Cut back on so much cheese (maybe 3/4c each)….made it too greasy tasting to us.
